Small Glamorous Weddings
I was reading The Tyra Show blog and came across a post that I had to tell you all about. In "Why Small Weddings Are Hot in Hollywood", the blog suggests brides take notes from celebrities like Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds who kept the guest list down to their nearest and dearest.

In the current economy, it makes financial sense to cut your wedding expenses by minimizing the guest list instead of totally eliminating the fabulous details you have fallen in love with. With a more intimate event, you could possibly afford to upgrade some of your initial selections like your menu (food and bar), favors, centerpieces, invitations, or transportation.

The easiest way to cut your guest list is to think about how often you communicate with each person during the course of the year. If you haven't heard from them in a really long time (and haven't missed talking to them), then they'll be satisfied with a formal announcement thru the mail shortly after the wedding. Also, only invite coworkers that you socialize with outside of the office. (NOTE: You should invite your boss and his/her significant other as a courtesy.)
