We Are All Invited to the Wedding of Ben & Betsy

The real people behind Philadelphia's historic characters, Ben Franklin and Betsy Ross, will be married on July 3rd in a public ceremony at Independence Hall (the birthplace of the Declaration of Independence). Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter will officiate while Peter Nero and the Philly Pops provide the ceremony music. The bride and groom will wear colonial attire.

In lieu of gifts, the couple has "registered" for contributions to be made to HistoricPhiladelphia.org to preserve the Betsy Ross House and Franklin Square.
