Wedding Websites

Personalized websites are the greatest tool for weddings since those long tipped lighters (I call them "clickers"). They are so fabulous in fact, that I am making this a new service for my clients. For those who don't have time or don't know how to do it themselves, I will create their wedding website for them.

How do you know if you need one?
Of course, everyone has different needs. I think it is safe to say that you don't need one if all of your guests and attendants are local (not travelling from other areas to get to your wedding), you are having a very small wedding (less than 30 guests), or the majority of your guests have no Internet access.

You will probably find a benefit to having a website if you have a lot of out of town guests who will need information about accommodations and transportation. You can provide directions to the ceremony and reception instead of printing them with your invitation. Tell your family and friends the romantic story of your courtship and engagement. Explain traditions and cultures that will be incorporated in your wedding.

Here are some examples of what is out there. Some are free. Others charge a fee for the site to be posted for a limited time (usually 12 - 18 months).

This idea is not just limited to weddings. When my high school reunion planning committee wanted to spread the word to our classmates across the country, I created a reunion website. It had music, high school pictures of our classmates and present photos, recommendations for hotels, and an itinerary of the reunion events. Everybody LOVED it!
