Hiring Wedding Professionals

Before you hire anyone for your wedding, you need to have the following:
· Complete guest list including phone numbers & addresses.
· Determine the type of wedding and color scheme
· Finalize your budget
· Select you wedding party

If you don’t have the time, energy, or organizational skills required to plan a wedding, then now would be a great time to hire a wedding planner. Your wedding planner should help make your dream come true without stressing you out. She will also do a lot of the legwork to help you select the locations for your ceremony and reception as well as all of the vendors needed.

Here is a list of the professionals you will need for a typical wedding:
· Officiant
· Caterer
· Hotel for out-of-town guests
· Photographer
· Videographer
· Entertainment
· Ceremony musician
· Seamstress/ Dress shop
· Hair stylist
· Makeup artist
· Florist
· Linen company (if not provided by the caterer or reception site)
· Baker
· Tailor/ Tuxedo shop
· Printer for invitations
· Calligrapher to address invitations
· Wedding day transportation
· Travel agent for honeymoon
· Favors
· Decorations

When selecting wedding professionals, a good rule of thumb is to visit at least three before making your final selection. Sometimes visiting with more than three can be too confusing, and anything less won't give you a good price and quality comparison. Call and get information from as many businesses as you want. If you've met with three and haven't found the "right vendor", then keep looking!

The internet is an excellent resource. Visit web sites such as The Knot (http://www.theknot.com/). It is a good idea to attend bridal shows to find wedding specialists because they will have samples of their product/ service available.
