Bridezillas - Season Premiere 6/7/09

Are you ready for an all-new season of cat-fighting, name-calling, temper tantrums, and freak-outs?

I had the pleasure of previewing an episode from the new season of Bridezillas on WE. For a minute, I thought I was watching an old episode of Jerry Springer (remember back in the day when they would really fight on stage?).

Check out the premiere episode of Season 6 this Sunday @ 9pm (Eastern).

The Daughter-In-Law Rules

101 Surefire Ways to Manage (and Make Friends with) Your Mother-in-Law
(I think the subtitle sells the book.)

I always read the back of the book before reading the contents. Here's what it says:

"Do you dread visits with your mother-in-law? Do you find yourself dodging
ruthless comments hurled your way at every possible moment? Is battling your
mother-in-law a simple fact of life, or is there another way to mitigate the age
old conflict between mother and wife? In her hilarious new book The
Daughter-in-Law Rules author Sally Shields lays out simple and witty strategies
to aid wives of all ages in the difficult art of mastering the mother-in-law.
With her 101 rules to manage your mother-in-law she scrutinizes every element of
MIL relations; from the decorum of housekeeping to the delicate world of child
rearing. The Daughter-in-Law Rules provides a revolutionary set of strategies,
making copasetic coexistence possible at last!"

I know a lot of people who need to buy this book yesterday. Personally, I don't have MIL drama. My MIL is one of the nicest people I know. Don't get me wrong. She is not a pushover in any way, shape, or form, but she is very helpful and caring. Maybe we get along so well because I am a sweetheart... or maybe she knows that being good to me makes her one and only son a happy camper too. Either way, I am grateful.

I want to thank Nicole @ Your Champagne Wishes Events LLC in Atlanta for introducing me to this book thru her blog.

Tagged Again!

I got tagged by Katasha, Precious, and Stacey so I figured I better blog about it before anyone else gets me. This time the rules are a little different.

The new rules:
1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 5 songs you are embarrassed to admit to others you like and tell why.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

These songs aren't so embarrassing because I definitely make sure people know "That is my jam!" when I hear any of them.

Let's Go Crazy by Prince
I sang it in a school talent show and I relive the '80s every time I hear it. I jump up and down and shake my hair all over my head... like a crazy person.

You're the One That I Want (from the Grease soundtrack) by Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta
One of my all time favorite movies. I actually like John Travolta's part best. I got chills... they're multiplyin'... and I'm losing control.

Stayin' Alive ( from the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack) by the Bee Gees
Well you can tell by the way I use my walk I'm a woman's man... no time to talk
You just don't hear smooth lyrics like that anymore.

Roni by Bobby Brown
I'm am a long time New Edition fan so when Bobby's solo album came out, I was all over it. Yeah, I had a little crush on him back then. So naturally, I changed the words of the song so he would say "Randi" instead of "Roni".

Jenny From the Block by Jennifer Lopez
This song came out around the time that I got engaged. The lyrics "Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got" were PERFECT!

OK... now to decide who I am going to tag... Deidre, Julio, Jackie, Tanti ... I can't think of anyone else who has not already been tagged.

Made of Honor (Movie)

How funny is this situation? The ending is predictable but I can't wait to watch everything that happens to get them there. The movie comes out on May 2, 2008.

Watch Me Turn Into Melanie

I was reading Tabitha's blog and saw her Celebrity Morph. I figured mine would look like Mr. Magoo, but I still wanted to post it on my blog. Actually, the tool gives you both male and female selections. My male match was Larry King. Go Figure!

Tagged Again

A few months ago, I was “blog tagged” by Saundra Hadley, my quirky but super smart colleague at Planning… Forever Weddings & Events in Indiana. Today, I found out that I was tagged again. This time, by Mark Kingsdorf at Queen of Hearts Weddings right here in Philadelphia. I tagged him after Saundra tagged me but now he’s tagging me after somebody tagged him. Are you following me?

So since this is considered a new tag and not a repeat of the first time, I’m gonna do it again.

The rules are:
1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.

2. Share 7 random and/or weird things about yourself.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

My entire life is random and weird. LOL… Just kidding. OK, 7 things about me.

1. Once upon a time, I was known as Miss Know It All, a celebrity gossip columnist for a weekly newspaper in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

2. I love to eat but I hate to cook. Thankfully, I had the good sense to marry a culinary genius.

3. I treated myself to a spa day today. It was wonderful to have someone cater to me for a change. My skin feels so soft and new. My nails are neatly manicured. And best of all, I am relaxed enough not to care that I came home to a messy house.

4. When I was about 12, I decided I would be a fashion designer when I grew up. I started collecting fashion magazines to study the names of top designers. I would sit and sketch a copy of the outfits onto faceless models. I even started dressing really funky to express my creativity.

5. Around the same time of my fashion designing phase, I convinced my mom to let me go to modeling school. She enrolled me at Barbizon. They thought I had great potential. Unfortunately, I never grew taller than 5’4”. Definitely too short to make any money at it.

6. I am convinced that I was switched at birth. My real parents are rich socialites, like the Hiltons and the Rockefellers. Norman and Robin (the parents who raised me) sometimes hinted at this truth when I would act like a pampered princess.

7. My giggle sounds just like Betty Rubble from The Flintstones.

OK… time to tag a few “random people”.
1. Jackie Bayne
2. Tanti Lina
3. Paul Roebuck
4. Julio Loor
5. Tabitha Dantzler
6. Shanika Butts
7. Wendy (Sacred Moments)

Fun Friday - Magic 8 Ball

While reading another website for business information, I found this link to the Magic 8 Ball.

Have you ever played with one of these? If not, then you are missing out on a very addictive , but fun, time waster. I asked it some ridiculous questions like "Will my husband get me a new car for Christmas?" and "Will my son be fully toilet trained by Monday?" The answers were "Absolutely" and "Ask me again later."

Your turn. Try it. You might like it.

Surprise First Dances

Thanks to Tabitha for this one.

Friday Funny

I guess the groom's mother doesn't approve of his chosen bride.
